Pfizer plant in Mexico, order picking with GD Convey Pick to Light system

Stöcklin Logistics, automatic storage as main contractor, and GD Convey, as specialist in light transport and order picking, were selected in 2004 amongst the best international companies in Handling Systems to automate the new American pharma leader company Pfizer Inc. DC in Mexico.

In the solution implemented, Stöcklin, integrates an automatic warehouse for 15.480 pallets with 6 stacker cranes.
GD Convey develops the order picking preparation, manual preparation area, Pick to Light area, as well as all the boxes and trays transport, and final sortation for delivery routes.

In the picking area, GD Convey has installed its standard software ConveyPick, that controls usual picking and transport functions such as:
· Material Flow Control management ConveyMFC, which is in charge of conveying and controlling order boxes at its picking destination.
· Displays management, physical and logical control, which means shown data switch on-off, quantities, corrections, etc.
· Order management, communication with the Host for delivery and order reception. This information is used by the Host PC
  to make new orders or items replacement.
· PLC transport communication, one of the basic function of this software in the interface with PLC’s conveyors and other
  elements as printers, sealing machines, etc.
· Delivery area management, sorting area made up by a pop-up sorter with 10 outlets. Using bar codes readers and knowing the number of picks made it can be reached the total tracking of the product.
