Robotic Systems

Each instalation and type of product define the robot to be implemented, choosing between articulated and gantry robots.

Articulated robots are the best when there is required to handle a wide number of references in comparison to the gantry one. The required space is lower in this case and the configuration of pallets surrounds the robot, not being aligned and parallel as requires the gantry robot. The throughput of the articulated robot is more elevated, with regard to distances which are optimized.

The gantry robot allows to install a higher number of palletizing stations, that is, is possible to palletize a higher variety of products at the same time.The number of cycles varies depending on the spaces to be covered. On the contrary, gantry robots are more flexible as the distances covered by one robot can be 30 x 5 x 2,5 meters.

Articulated Robot

GD Convey has a wide experience in conception and engineering of automatic pallettising systems dedicated to end-of-lines. Each application is deeply analyzed by our team of engineers in the Project study and quotation Department, offering the propest opcions for the customers.

Regarding to the integration of articulated robots, GD Convey integrates the most suitable robot to the customer's activity, being habitual ABB and Fanuc suppliers. The modularity of these systems allows to reach high features about the gripping system.

It can be developed for a single pick to a multiple or complete lay picking. Therefore, this type of robots permits the turning and/or tilting of the box, which optimizes the preparation of lay on the pallet.

Gantry robot

The gantry robot GD-840 is used either for pallettising cells applications or order picking. It is ideal where objects need to be transported over relatively long distances, where the work space varies in response to changing needs, when the robot has to work from above or floor space is at a premium.

They provide high accessibility and flexibility in cell layout and floor planning, with nothing to impede other equipment such as fork-lift trucks.

The gantry robot control system communicates with the management software ConveyPal, developed by GD Convey. The current version is the result of years of development and experience, accumulated in complex installations carried out worldwide.
