GD Convey will supply to Supermercados Sabeco a shoe sorter system

Supermercados Sabeco retail chain, Auchan group, with more than 250 shops in the national market, has entrusted GD Convey the automation of its cross-docking process for its fresh products Distribution Centre. Without being stock when the products are received in the DC from the supplier, a sorting system will carry out the cross-docking for all its shops daily.

The fresh products will be conveyed in a high variety of dimensions and shapes, as plastic trays, boxes or cardboxes trays are generally used for vegetables, fruits, milk products and meat. No bar code label is required on the product as the sortation systems carries out the tracking of the product from its entering in the system. The sorting system will manage the sortation of 3.000 units per hour. It will be manufactured by the specialist in shoe-sorters Van Riet.
