Gripper systems

The mechanical engineering department of GD Convey designs the grapping unit according to its functionality and product handled.

The conception of the gripper system can depend on several factors; mosaics to be created, quantity of boxes per layer, carton type, product fragility, inner weight distribution, seal quality, etc.

In general terms, it is possible to classify the gripping units in:

Spade system: combining fix and mobile spade.

Vacuum suction pads: each suction pad has an open/close sensor that only forms a vacuum when the suction pads are on the cases.

Clamping systems: Used in pallets handling.

Combined gripping devices: based on the combination of the mentioned systems, depending on the application
